We had a group dinner here on a weekday night and after walking up from the waterfront on a hot evening were grateful to be greeted with plenty of ice cold water while we looked over the menus. The cocktail selection was fun, and a number in our group ordered the coconut which is literally served in a real coconut with a spoon to scrape out the coconut meat. We shared some appetizers and really enjoyed the crispy duck rolls and the dumplings. For my entree I had the rockfish which came covered in fresh herbs which I enjoyed, but might not be everyone's cup of tea. The anchovy pineapple sauce that they pour over on serving the dish adds a really interesting layer to the flavors, which again, I really liked, but this would not be a good dish for anyone who likes to keep things more basic. We shared some desserts as well; the chocolate torte with pistachios was delicious. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was relaxed and quiet on a weeknight even though tables were full. Definitely a great option for those with more adventurous palates!

We went there for my husband's birthday dinner. We ordered Crispy Fresh Duck Rolls, Chili Cumin Pork Ribs, Goat Curry and Ginger Rice. Everything was good, and flavorful. Ginger rice was so aromatic and it complimented the food very well. It was a bit noisy inside and hard to hear the waiter who spoke very soft.

A beautiful neighborhood restaurant that was walkable form the Sheraton Grand. Had a lovely dinner on August 3rd. The two Rolls were excellent - Mushroom and Duck. Same preparation, very different tastes. Cumin Shortribs were meaty, spicy, and very very tender. The highlight for me was the beet salad, which was beautiful and complex. The silken tofu was perfect (this coming from a guy who is not a fan of tofu). Waiter was very helpful. I wish there was just a little more salt on the salad. I had a couple nice glasses of wine. The service was a little slow but we were on vacation, so no big worries. I always like to try and find quality local restaurants and this fit the bill.

Incredible fusion food! It's on the pricier end but everything we had was delicious. Service was great as they came to check on us regularly. The ambiance is nice for catching up with friends -- a bit dim near the inside but still great lighting near the windows. Duck rolls: so savory, crunchy, chewy, herbaceous! They are great without the sauce since they lean towards more salty. They give 2 rolls and cut them half, so 4 pieces total. Pork ribs: fall off the bone, smothered in spices, and not dry at all Sticky rice dumplings: new favorite dish. So chewy and tender with a burst of flavors from the sauce Pumpkin curry: not super outstanding, probably would not order again. Goat curry: delicious -- don't remember any meat chunks but it is very flavorful!

Food and service was so good! We got the duck rolls, crispy garlic prawns, goat curry, fried chicken, and brussels sprouts and everything was SO good! I understand why the goat curry is as popular as it is! Also, special thanks for the birthday dessert they gave to our friend celebrating it was their coconut creamsicle that tasted exactly as you expect Only reason it's 4 stars and not 5 is because it was a bit pricey given the quantity of food.

Definitely make a reservation before coming here! I love how tender the ribs were and the spiciness of the curry but my favorite was the squash salad! It's a great place to start a fun night when you're in CapHill or for a nice dinner date!

Every time we dine here, the food always delivers. It delivers on taste, presentation and experience. The food is always packed with flavor that is perfectly balanced. I honestly feel like that there is nothing bad here. It's a matter of deciding what you love more. Absolutely cannot go wrong with the master stock crispy chicken. The tuna tartare is exceptional here as well. What I also love about Stateside is how the menu rotates and you'll always find something new. Never had a bad or subpar experience with staff here. They will pace your meal accordingly and if you're not in a rush, they will not rush you. You can truly dine and enjoy the food. The drinks also deliver too. The staff is very friendly and accommodating without being overbearing. If you come for dinner, the ambiance is very pleasant with dim lighting. It can get a little loud as the night goes on but never to wear I cannot hear the people I am with. Highly recommend this place as the Asian influence with new American cuisine is one that is very enjoyable. Save room for dessert too. It's always worth it here. Pro tip, if you get the chocolate cream torte, let it sit like 5 minutes before you start eating. Once it starts to get to room temp, it truly elevates the chocolate experience. And the duck egg custard is one that highly refined but simply delicious.

Great date spot with amazing service and ambiance! The food here was delicious as well. First time trying Vietnamese French fusion and it was such a delight. We tried 2 small plates, 2 mains and a dessert to share between the two of us. It was the perfect amount and everything is great for sharing. Crispy Duck Fresh Rolls (10/10): the rolls had an amazing texture contrast between the crunchy spring roll wrap combined with the chewy rice paper rolls. the duck was not too overwhelming and the oyster soy sauce dip added the perfect amount of saltiness. this was personally my favorite dish of the night! Crunchy, Creamy Chili-Garlic Prawns (10/10): perfectly crunchy and creamy topped with a spicy siracha sauce. another must try dish! Goat Curry (8.5/10): the shredded goat meat almost blended into the curry itself. there was a pretty strong mint flavor which may not be a hit for everyone and the consistency was a bit mushy. eating it alongside the jasmine rice definitely helped the overall texture Chili Crisp Stroganoff (10/10): this is not your typical stroganoff. the dish came with a big hunk of braised short rib alongside rice cakes and some braised veggies. the meat was very tender and i thought it was a unique twist to a classic dish Chocolate Cream Torte (9/10): great dessert to end off the meal. it was very fudge-like and had a pistachio crunchy layer in the middle to cut through the thickness - it was a pretty heavy cake overall
